Meet Dani from Mantra Sarasota
Behind every great fitness class is an instructor with a passion for teaching. Today, we’re thrilled to share insights from Dani, one of our dedicated instructors at Mantra Fitness Sarasota. Discover what drives their love for teaching the Mantra Method and how it impacts their students.
What sparked your passion for teaching at Mantra Fitness?
“I developed the love for Mantra when I first became a client at our OG Sarasota studio back in 2015/2016. I have always had an active background, from high school, doubles beach and travel volleyball. I’ve always loved mixing up my workout regimen, from OTF, outdoor running, Pure Barre, Crossfit, F45 and hot yoga. My first Mantra class completely humbled me within the first 10 minutes! I still remember to this day signing up, intentionally planning to run the Ringling Bridge right after… I literally could not move my legs!
Since then I’ve been hooked! It’s the best feeling working at the facility where you truly believe the method and everything it has to offer physically and mentally.
Teaching allows me to share that passion with others and help them find their inner strength and mind/body connection.”
What is your favorite part of teaching the Mantra workout?
“I’d say being part of someone’s journey. Watching each person grow stronger, seeing the changes in their body and attitude knowing you helped with that- it’s extremely rewarding.”
How do you stay motivated as an instructor?
“Staying motivated comes naturally when you love what you do. I always tell my clients when you’re coming in for class- leave your problems at the door! This is your time and your space to move your body and hopefully by the end of class, those problems are a little smaller and there’s a new perspective. Same goes for us as trainers!”
Can you share a memorable experience you’ve had while teaching?
“The best experience is having someone personally come up to me after class or even go out of their way to message me just to say thank you. Letting me know that I’ve made their day that much better- that they wouldn’t be in this mindset if it wasn’t for me. I’m reminded everyday why I love teaching and the impact it can have on people’s lives.”
How do you create a positive and engaging environment in your classes?
“Creating a positive environment is crucial. I focus on the basics in almost all of my routines. I love the extra detail and reminding clients why this method is so beneficial to your body. Music is everything and letting loose never hurts!”
What do you hope your students take away from your classes?
“I hope all of my clients leave in a better mood than when they walked in(and shaking)! Learning something new about their body or experiencing new engagement during an exercise- it’s the best feeling!”
How has teaching at Mantra influenced your approach to fitness?
“Fitness will always be a huge part of my life. For me personally, it’s my therapy/the time I get to set aside just to focus on one thing vs. the millions of things I have going on in my day to day routine . I’ve learned to listen to my body, taking breaks when needed. I’ve stopped comparing myself to others. Just be happy with the body that you have, the one you’re trying to better and keep healthy! I always remind myself that I get to wake up everyday, move, socialize, help people, walk, run, exercise while others don’t. Gratitude is everything!”
