Client Spotlight: Lauren from Mantra Sarasota

Lauren Christensen on Why She Loves Mantra Workouts

At Mantra Fitness, we are fortunate to have a community of dedicated and inspiring clients. This month, we are thrilled to share the testimony of Lauren from Mantra Sarasiota, who has been an integral part of our Mantra family. Lauren has graciously agreed to share her journey with Mantra and how it has impacted her life.

Meet Lauren

Lauren is a branding/marketing mind turned mama to two girls, who joined the Mantra family in 2017. Lauren enjoys perfectly themed parties, family time, dance, fashion/home design, exploring food, school volunteerism, fantasy football, dry humor and spicy margaritas. She recently launched a new little business called the Indian Beachcicle – a freezer tricycle to keep items “Frozen Chic” at parties and events.

Why Lauren Started Pilates at Mantra

When I moved to Sarasota, I had just weaned off nursing my first daughter. I was ready to get my body moving, and find that time that all new moms need. Time that is THEIRS. I wanted to commit to a schedule that would improve both my mental and physical strength. I dated different workouts around town and it was quickly clear. Mantra was my true love.”

The Journey So Far

When I first started Mantra, I believe I took three classes a week. And yes, there was a learning curve and I was ungodly sore. Within the first month however, I saw noticeable changes in my body. I felt stronger, and more defined. That progress was addictive. Fast forward, I was even able to continue the workout through my second pregnancy – until weeks out from delivery (with modifications). I only made everyone very nervous.”

The Biggest Benefits of Mantra Workouts

“Despite the fact I have been taking classes at Mantra for 7 years, I have never met an easy class. And I have never grown bored. I am unrelentingly driven to sign up and show up, and I still get the same energy and high of accomplishment as I leave the studio every time. I am consistently challenged. I don’t risk injury. And I am always growing stronger.”

Favorite Mantra Exercises

I like the heavy leg workouts and the big 1B2Y pushing. And contrary to popular opinion – planking and oblique work. Give me all the snakes and baby snakes. (IYKYK!)”

Advice for Newcomers

“Know that everyone is in there working their butt off. And no one is judging a newcomer. Ever!”

Why Mantra Fitness

“At Mantra, I always leave feeling better than I did walking in. And I believe there is something to be said for that.”
